Last day of freedom.........

Tomorrow is the day....the day my oldest gets braces!!!!
He has had his "appliances" now for several weeks and has done really well with them. He has
been very responsible with taking care of them, eating correct foods, ect.
I know the next time he is without braces he will be SO much older and sooo much more handsome (if that is even possible)
Thought this picture was very important to document :) Ill post a 1st day of braces pic tomorrow:)

We had a GREAT Easter Sunday this year! Church then lunch with the whole family.

Today, at Grace's preschool, they are having an Easter Egg Hunt. Im so excited for her, but at the same time my heart kinda breaks that Im not there to watch her face light up with excitement. I snapped a picture this morning before I took her in... She just "had" to have "Ana" braids this morning...haha...she's already VERY opinionated about her hair...and her clothes. We.are.in.trouble. #boysareeasy

Guess who's next??

No braces for now- he's still has SEVERAL baby teeth but he has A MAJOR crowding problem. So, in May he will get the same appliances Christian has, plus a bottom spacer. He won't get braces for a few more years :) 

Day 1

A few tears have already been shed.....my heart is already melting.

I see LOTS if ice cream in Christians future until he gets the hang of this mouth full of metal. For lunch I fixed him some eggs- and he couldn't figure out how to swollow them :( now we are trying oatmeal. I am very worries about what he will do at school. - if I wasn't so far from the school - I would bring him a soft lunch everyday. - hopefully this will be a fast couple of weeks --- however, he gets the Ctual 'braces" in 2 weeks, so we will start over again :( what a process!! But sooo worth it. God is good!- thankful He allows us to "take care" of our kiddos.

Last day before the "Metal"

METAL FACE

the boys are actually bug enough for braces.....where has time gone?? Tmr is Christians BIG day at the orthodontist. He actually gets his "braces" in two weeks due to the fact that he has to get Some appliances first. I learned a whoooole bunch about orthodontic care during our initial consultation. I've never heard of most if the things they use now, but it's been FOREVER since I myself had braces. Tmr Christian is greeting he following 2 things, 1. Quad helix (google it) 2. Herbst appliance (Google it) Both look space age stuff - glad I never had either!! So, after two weeks of getting use to those gadgets, he will get the actual "braces" on his teeth. He doesn't seem anxious or nervous - I hope he is excited after what it's costing, haha. Pics to follow!!

Full Time everything

So not only am I a FT mommy/wife, I have also started working FT as a nurse. The job is great, and the staff is even better. Total God send really. The kids drop in on me from time to time...they think the office is pretty "neat". Thankful for God's provisions....

Nothing better......

There is nothing better than watching an upcoming generation grow, especially when they have such amazing role models before then that help mold them. I can honestly say, without any reserve, that I have the best set if grandparents in the world (my children's great-grandparents). They are amazing Christian role models that have prayed for me, my brothers, and now my children..all of us even before any of us were born. I believe strongly that God shows great favor to us when we pray for our children's and our children's future children. When we trust in His word, in His promises, he DOES bless us. My Children are so blessed to be able to spend a great deal of time with their great-grandparents. I know that that is not a blessing that many people have. We live very close, and they love on my children If they were theirs! Today we got to spend some more quality time with both of them and it was so special. My oldest son, Christian, and my grandfather  are so much alike. They both share a passion for learning-- and they are good at, both very very bright. Today my grandfather shared his vast knowledge of birds with Christian. They studied/talked together for the longest time. I captured the picture shown above this post becuase I knew that in the future when I think back to the times we shared, this will be one of the moments that will stick out the most to me. A treasure. So blessed. So thankful for a Father that loves us soo much.....we deserve nothing, and yet, he continues to bless us. I pray my children will have a heart for God. One that burns for him----even well into the their 80's----and beyond, just like their great-grandparents. ❤️❤️❤️

A new beginning.....

Blogging, something that was so dear to me. I spent alot of my day today sifting through the pages of this blog. I started in 2005, boy, how times have changed. When I last left off, Grace was just a toddler...now, she is a a very talkative, very opinionated little girl. Christian, is now taller than me..by about a half inch, and little Joshua (is not so little anymore). Each one has changed. Mostly good, but obviously the closer we get to the teenage years, there are some bad things that come along as well. I have been posting my life on Facebook, along with the rest of the world, and have decided to take a break from the Facebook :) I have always loved documenting my voyage as a mother in words. - and here I will continue the epic novel (haha) of the Burt Munchkins. Stay tuned!! XOXOX
